FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What does hypnosis feel like?
A: You will emerge after each session with a feeling of calmness, well-being and deep relaxation. You are always in control and can emerge from hypnosis at any time.
Q: Will I be asleep or unconscious? Will I have amnesia?
A: No, you are entirely aware of what is happening. Hypnosis is not sleep; it is a state of heightened awareness and focus, not loss of awareness. You will not have amnesia and you will remember your hypnosis session.
Q: How do I know if I can be hypnotized?
A: Anyone can be hypnotized if they want it to happen. Only individuals with severe mental health issues and IQ’s lower than 70 would be difficult to hypnotize. Because hypnosis is a natural state of mind and occurs often, some people who experience hypnosis are not sure they were even hypnotized. This is normal.
Q: What do I need to do to prepare for hypnosis?
A: In order to be hypnotized, you must be motivated, prepared to use your imagination and be able to follow simple directions. A good attitude about reaching your goals produces good results.
Q: Can I be made to do things I do not want to do?
A: No, you cannot be hypnotized against your will. You will always reject harmful or inappropriate suggestions.
Q: Can I get “stuck” in hypnosis?
A: No, if you are left alone, you will come out of hypnosis. If you wish to, you can emerge from hypnosis at any time.
